Praying through the Psalms

Please locate your time in the list below and use the Psalm(s) listed as a springboard for your prayers. We recommend even reading the Psalm out loud and then seeing how the Holy Spirit leads you to pray. Please remember to pray with thanksgiving…the fact that there are even believers on trial in Libya means that believers in this land exist (both those imprisoned as well as those not) and for this, we give thanks! We give thanks because of who the Lord is and has promised to be to our brothers and sister as they appear in court (“And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.” Mark 13:11). As we pray with faith, we acknowledge that the Lord is sovereign and He is good–we recognize who He is and focus our worship and attention on that even as we pray for release of those imprisoned. Praising Him for who He is, is always the best choice–and it’s a powerful weapon we yield. Please feel free to utilize the “Song List for 48hr Libya Prayer” YouTube link to help you think on who He is…our mighty, able God!

Practical ways to pray:

-Pray for a decision to deport our Pakistani brother Fraz (who will appear in court)

-Pray that regardless of where the Believers have stood firm or fallen short in honoring Christ to this point, that the Holy Spirit would empower them to HONOR CHRIST as they appear in court. May they not be ashamed in any way but boldly declare their faith in Christ. Pray that as they see one another in the courtroom that it will be an encouragement and that they will be strengthened in seeing one another so that each one would take a stand for Jesus Christ, the Son of God and King!

-Pray for the Lord’s presence to be tangible in that courtroom. Pray for a holy fear to descend and for His presence to dispel any fear from the Believers while bringing conviction and causing muslims to fear a Holy God!

-Pray for the Holy Spirit to wash over their minds and hearts reminding them of all the truth they know, may it flood over them, filling and empowering them. Pray they would reject any lies of the enemy and pray against the interference of the enemy in that courtroom.

-Pray for the Gospel to go forth in Libya. Pray that this court case would serve as a catalyst for breakthrough! These are not the first believers to be held captive in this land for their decision to follow Jesus…and they are in a long line (since the time of Jesus) of those counted worthy to suffer for the Gospel. It is our privilege to stand with them. (Hebrews 13:3)
